Steam Shower FAQ |
|
For many years Steam showers have been used inmany cultures i.e. the Ancient Romans, as they found the warm waters to be revitalising. The heat from the steam raises the bodys temperature, making you sweat and expelling toxins. The heat also speeds up your metabolic rate and your immune system, helping you to fight of diseases and maintain a good healthy body.
With a 15-20 Minute session the steam can raiseyour body temperature, increasing your blood circulation, which can strengthenthe cardiovascular system. A healthy body will burn calories more efficiently so you’ll lose weight more efficiently and you could lose up to 300 calories from one session.
JT SPAS steam showers are all manufactured strictly to High European CE Safety Requirements whilst maintaining manufacturing ISO 9001 International Standards. We hold stock of all our models and dispatch our goods generally within 5-7 working days. If at your time of purchase your item is out of stock normally it will be dispatched within 4-6 weeks. We will inform you immediately if this is the case and supply you with an ETA on your goods and offer a FULL REFUND if this date is unacceptable.
We are so confident that you will be happy with the quality of your product that we are happy to offer a 2nd year warranty for only £99 extra.
Below are some answers to questions that we are generally asked by potential customers, hopefully they will answer all your questions. Please read through this information carefully but if not all your questions are answered you can always contact us on 0870 879 3812 or email your enquiry to Info@JTSpas.com or send us feedback via our website at http://www.JTSpas.com/contact-us.html.
We recommend that your water pressure is at least 2 BAR. If your water supply system in your home or office is gravity fed, then more than likely your pressure will not be powerful enough, for you get the best performance from your steam shower. We recommend and can supply you with a Triton Twin Impeller 2.2 BAR water pump which should provide the perfect water pressure for your steam shower. Please contact your plumber to ensure you provide use with the correct information regarding your pump as if your water tanks are below or on the same level as your steam shower you may require a negative head water pump.
Most combi boiler systems and various other pressurised systems provide adequate pressure but please consult your plumber before buying to ensure the pressure is around 2 BAR. It is imperative that the water supply to your steam shower is of equal pressure otherwise the thermostatic feature may stop working.
There is a built-in extractor fan in the steam shower which helps to extract the steam from the unit which comes on after use of the shower has ended. We always advise customers to have at lease 6 inches space above the unit to allow for proper venting for the steam, if possible ask your plumber to attach suitable ducting to the extractor fan to expel the steam outside. Please ensure that the steam shower is installed in a room with level walls and a flat even floor. Our units have an aromatherapy option included as standard you can add the oils to an outlet on the steam outlet. You can enjoy all their beautiful aroma’s whilst having a relaxing steam shower and listening to your favourite music via the built-in radio.
All the necessary parts are included in the flat pack boxes that contain the steam shower unit, although your plumber may be required to get an adaptor to connect the included waste pipe to the standard waste pipe found in most bathrooms. If mains connected cold water is used then we advise that a pressure reducing valve is used as equal water pressure must be used otherwise the thermostatic mixer valve will get damaged. If your thermostatic valve is damaged due to different hot and cold water supply pressures, you will need a replacement thermostatic valve. This however will not be included under warranty but don’t worry we can supply a valve at a small cost. We recommend adding full bore butterfly ball valves to your hot and cold water supply to allow you to switch off the water supply quickly if ever required. A flow rate of 14 litres a minute is usually adequate at 2 BAR pressure. The shower adheres to Standard UK Electrical requirements of 220/240V, 50Hz, 3Kw. The electrical connection of your shower should be connected to a 13 amp IP56 socket if connected in the bathroom or using a standard UK 13 amp socket outside the bathroom. Please note for legal reasons if the shower units electrical components are connected outside the bathroom the power cord needs to be fed through the bathroom wall and connected to a wall socket in another room and the hole were the cord is fed through should be adequately sealed and insulated.
Warranty Information
All our steam showers come with a 1 year parts warranty from the date of the dispatch of your goods. Please ensure that you have your steam shower installed by a fully qualified plumber & electrician. Proof of installation is required in the unlikely event that you have any problems with your steam shower unit, if no proof can be provided then your warranty will be null and void. Although once we receive this proof of installation we will supply you with replacement parts, which we normally have in stock and dispatched usually within 5-10 working days of this proof of installation, totally FREE OF CHARGE if the product is still its 1 year parts under warranty.
We always try to help diagnose all faults over the telephone and via email even if you didn’t install the unit correctly or your warranty has expired. We don’t believe in holding back information or parts due to a previous oversight or if your products warranty has lapsed, we can supply replacement parts at a small cost.
